It’s almost Teacher Appreciation Week! This year we’re doing a little treat for the whole staff each day, ending with a big catered lunch on Friday. One of the little treats the staff will be getting are the water bottles. Remember these?
Except I needed one that said ‘staff’ to include everyone in the building. So…TA-DA! New and improved water bottle labels for ya! And 4 to a page for easy printing for multiple pages.

It’s February…already. And we’ve had unseasonably warm weather around here, which makes me bittersweet. I love the weather (and not freezing to death), but it makes we think that Mother Nature has something coming. My friend predicts a March blizzard. We’ll see. I’m all for blizzards when they have chunks of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups in them

Remember these? I’m guessing you probably do. It’s been, by far, my most popular post. Thanks again to Jeni for suggesting it. I recently had a comment on that post from Jen, suggesting a Valentine themed s’mores printable. I thought it was a great idea. I tweaked the design a little…and just happened to find white and pink marshmallow hearts at Walmart! Perfect! Pink toppers with little white and red hearts on them…too cute! But I have a son. The printable is pushing it for him, period. A pink printable with pink marshmallow hearts would put him over the edge. So I made one in blue too. I used the pink marshmallows with the pink printable and white marshmallows with the blue printable. The front says ‘I need s’more friends like you’ and on the back are the directions on how to make a quick microwave s’more treat. I added a little space to write a ‘to’ and ‘from’ also.
The download is a two page pdf file. When you click the link, it will pop up on your screen. You can either print it right there (print both pages or just the one you need) or save it. I printed mine on white cardstock that I bought at Walmart. Cut out the toppers, score them down the middle and fold over a clear cello bag. I used a 4×9 inch clear Wilton treat bag that I also found at Walmart (can you tell which store is closest to my house?). Staple the folded topper over the folded cello bag. Ok, so the idea for this one hit me last night. I was working on some other stuff and happened to be using my QR code. QR codes are those little black pixely boxes that you can scan with your smart phone and it brings up a website, text, etc. I made one for this blog and I try to include it on the printables for download. These little codes are popping up everywhere…magazines, at the mall, I even saw one on the garden stake in my last batch of potting flowers I bought.
So bear with me on this idea. It combines the cute printable subway art idea with the qr code idea with a Valentine’s Day theme. With me so far? This may be totally out there, but I decided to give it a try. It appeals to my geeky side. I can picture it framed on someone’s desk at work…maybe a teacher’s or the school secretary’s, maybe even the dentist’s front office desk…for all to see. If someone is curious (I would be), they can pop out their smart phone, scan it with an app like QRReader (that’s the one I have), and a cute little animated message will appear. It’s a secret message, hidden in cyberspace for your friends to find.

I made both a 4×6 inch and 5×7 inch size. I framed them in inexpensive frames I found at Target this morning.
Let me add a little disclaimer…I tried this many times. I scanned from my phone, from the computer, from the printable. It works for me. I can’t guarantee that it’s gonna work for everyone and every phone out there. And I did try a red heart, but it seems that my scanner didn’t like the red. Pink works much better. If you’re ready to give it a try, here is the printable.

Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. I can be all pink and red and sparkly and cutesy…and it’s totally acceptable!
You know I’ll all about cute, easy, and cheap. Here’s a project that fits all three. And it’s the cheapest kind of cheap…free!
Allow me to introduce…lollipop wraps, or lolly wraps for short. Little lollipop tents that require no glue to stay together! Easy for little hands and bigger hands, too
Just print, cut, score, and punch a hole. A lollipop fits right in and it’s done!

WOO HOO! I’m getting this up before the first of December…I feel like that’s a major accomplishment I just wanted to share something that I think y’all might like! An easy, cute, and FREE Countdown to Christmas.
Here’s what we’re making…a Countdown to Christmas frame
You’ll need…
Picture frame with the glass taken out
Decorative papers
Brad or glue
A binder or bulldog clip
24 tags with the numbers 1-24 (print them out here)
ribbons, decorations, or stickers
I found a frame I liked and took out both the glass and the paper insert from inside the frame. I used the paper insert as a pattern and cut some decorative paper to the same size. You might consider using some cardboard (I used a cereal box that I cut to fit) behind the paper for added support. Using a brad or glue, secure a small bulldog clip to the decorative paper. Place the paper and cardboard backing inside the frame.
Here’s the easy part…download your tag freebie. Then print and cut out the tags. All that’s left is to add some embellishment. I simply stapled some ribbon scraps to my tags. You’re ready for the countdown! Cute, right? I made the tags kinda plain so that it would go with just about any colors you decide to do. And I love how they’re kinda vintage-y.
Ta-daaaaa! Great as an early gift for neighbors, co-workers, and teachers, too. Kids love ‘em too!

As some of you may know, I am a ‘retired’ teacher. I mean, before I had the kids, I taught school. I’ve taught middle school math, third grade, fourth grade, pre-K, and even adult education. That covers just about everybody, right? It’s hard to say who my favorite group is…although it can be much easier to deal with kids than adults {wink}. I do always enjoy the itty bitty ones. Learning is still fun for them and it’s so easy to make the learning fun. It’s hard to make your 10 year old son’s writing-an-interesting-paragraph assignment a barrel of monkeys. It’s a whole lot easier and way more fun to learn about letters by building them with crackers and then eating them! I miss those fun lessons…which is way I’m really excited to have the opportunity to share some fun and educational activities for all ages on the Tip Junkie blog over the next month! {I feel like I’m back in my dorky teacher groove!}
