The boy turned 9 a few months ago. I guess when you’re a nine year old boy, you’re too cool for a birthday party…? Buddy didn’t want one this year. All he wanted to do was go to the Rodeo (more on that in a later post) and see The Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie. Can do.
But when you have a mom like me…she’s still gotta cute-sy it up. I don’t mean to. I just like everything to look nice. Presentation, presentation, presentation. So I just grabbed a couple of Wimpy Kid tees from Target and wrapped them up in these plastic popcorn boxes I found in the dollar bins, also at Target.
I used the same digital scrapbooking kit that I used when I worked with Bridget on these cute toppers. It’s from Kate Hadfield’s collab Movie Night available at The Lilypad.
Just thought I’d share!

What font did you use for “thanks?”
Soooooo cute, Mel!! I love these!! Don’t you just love that collab????
Seriously cute gift!!
Dana, that font is actually a digital alpha from the scrapbook kit Movie Night that I talked about in the post. Isn’t it cute?
Its great – can you make it a PDF file for everyone?? I always have a lot of people to thank!
I just found your site today and had to laugh as I am in the same situation with my soon to be 11-year old. I was all set to do a fun
“Minute to Win It” party when the birthday boy decided he just wanted to go to the movies with a bunch of friends.
I’ve been looking for a movie night kit to help make invites, favors, etc…and haven’t found one I liked until you sent me to Lilypad.
Thanks so much!
Looking forward to adding you to my “favorites.”
I love that kit! So glad to hear my boy isn’t the only one!
